The Lions came into the game 1-0 on the road after defeating Bryant & Stratton the previous Monday 87-80. The Hawks came into the game 0-3 looking for their first win and did not find it. However the Hawks did start out on fire from deep, scoring six of the seven threes attempted in the first 9 minutes of the game to give them a 23-9 lead. CJ Scott would respond by bringing a spark into the Lions offense scoring 6/8 points on a nice little 8-0 run to get back into the game 23-17. The Hawks would come back with an 8-0 run of their own and head into halftime up 35-24 over the Lions.
6 minutes into the second half and the Lions start to find some form and go on a 20-6 run flipping the game on its head, thanks to Hussain Williams 10 points with 2 assists over the run. The Lions were down 47-38 but now lead 58-53 with under 6 minutes remaining in the contest. The game's pace went from frantic up and down the court to a slow burn as the clock dwindled and the Lions remained on top. Scott and Williams were able to score their free throws to seal the Lions 67-62 victory.
Hussian Williams led the Lions with 21 points while also grabbing 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals
CJ Scott was the second leading scorer with 14, with a big 4 blocks, 3 assists and 4 rebounds
Alex Obase led the team with 10 rebounds to go with his 4 points and 4 steals
