Your CCBC Dundalk Lions have moved on to 17-6 (7-2) after defeating the Chesapeake Skipjacks 13-7 (5-4), 75-60.
Malik McCormick led the Lions with 16 points and was second with 7 rebounds. Mohamed Bundu was second in points with 13 and led the team with 15 rebounds. Christian Wright had 9 points and led the team with 7 assists. Allayassa Bray filled up the stat sheet with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and a steal. Tyshawn Walker and Jayson Mouzon both had 10 points.
With 9 minutes left in the first half the Lions were up three, 20-17. The Lions then went on a 6-1 run to go up 10, 28-18. The Skipjacks called a timeout and rallied a quick 4 points to cut the lead to 28-22. The Lions then answered with a 7-0 run to go up 35-22 with 3 minutes left in the half. Sadly the Lions were in a drought until the end of the half and the Skipjacks scored 11 unanswered to finish the half with a score of 35-33 Lions lead by two.
The second half started out just like the first, the game was close then the Lions broke away with an 8-0 run to make it 57-47. After this run the game was over. The Lions kept their lead and won with their biggest lead of the night 15, 75-60.
If this game was closer the Lions free throw woes could have hurt them. Besides Bray (4-4) and McCormick (5-5) the Lions were 4-17 from the line.
