Lions Knockout Fighting Owls

Your CCBC Dundalk Lions are now 13-5 (5-1) after defeating the Harford CC Fighting Owls 80-74 Wednesday night.

Mohamed Bundu had 15 points on the night and led the team with 22 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks. Tyshaun Walker had 20 points and 8 rebounds shooting 6-11 from three. Christian Wright had 20 points and 4 assists.

The game started out back and forth with the game tied at 17 with 6 minutes left in the first half. The Lions then proceeded to break away with a 13-2 run to make the score 30-19. The half finished with a score of 32-21.

The Lions were cruising for the first 10 minutes of the second half keeping the lead around 10. Tyshaun Walker hit a 3 to make it 54-40 giving the Lions their largest lead of the night. But the Fighting Owls were not done yet because they answered right back with a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 4 with the score at 54-50. 

With less than 2 minutes left the Lions were up 71-60. In the next minute the Fighting Owls hit a 3, made a layup, gave up a Lions layup and then answered with another 3 before calling a timeout with 38 seconds left with a score of 73-68, Lions up 5. The Fighting Owls started to foul. Ibraheem Bundu made both free throws then the Fighting Owls missed a three and Dana Strothers made both free throws after getting the rebound and being fouled. The Lions at this point are up 77-68. The Fighting Owls then go on to make a layup and get the foul call and convert the and 1 making it 77-71. The Lions then turn the ball over and give up a three to make the score 77-74. Jayson Mouzon was fouled and made both free throws to secure the win. The Lions ended up with a win 80-74.

The Lions will play again at home on Saturday, January 25th at 1:00pm against Howard Community College.
