Lions mauled, Panthers prime suspect

by Daniel Pell

DUNDALK, MD – In their post-Thanksgiving matchup against BCCC the Lions turned a five point deficit at the half into a 31-point loss, but it's not all bad news. The Lions continue to climb in the ranks of the NJCAA to become the team leader in steals. The Lions' 14.9 steals per game put them in second place behind the category leader South Suburban College's (Chicago) 15.0 per game.

On November 27 your CCBC Dundalk Lions (2-6, 0-2 Maryland JUCO) took on the Baltimore City Community College Panthers (6-1, 3-0 Maryland JUCO).

The Lions were down by five at the half, 30-25. The second half showed a tale of two teams which Dundalk needs to fix in order to end the current 3 game losing streak. The Panthers widend the gap by 26 additional points, besting the Lions 75-44.

With 17 steals against Baltimore City Community College, Dundalk was able to keep the game close until their shooting woes continued in the second half. The Sophomore Richard Hibbert (Patterson) scored nine points and had  four steals. Mohamad Bundu (Largo) led in Lions rebounds with six. Freshman Christion Wright (Woodlawn) led the team scored 10 points with four assists. Daniel Byrd (Milford Mill) added nine points along with thre rebounds.

The Lions are on the road for the entire month of December:

  • December 5 at Chesapeake College (Wye Mills, Md.)
  • December 7 at College of Southern Maryland (LaPlata, Md.)
