Lions Roar Past Owls

The CCBC Dundalk baseball team secured a much-needed victory in their doubleheader against Prince George Community College on Tuesday afternoon. Entering the day with a challenging 0-14 record, the Lions were hungry for a win. These two wins marked their first victories of the season and, hopefully, will serve as the turning point needed to ignite a strong stretch of performances as they push forward in the season.

In game one of the doubleheader, the Lions wasted no time, jumping out to a commanding 6-0 lead in the early innings. It was a well-rounded offensive effort that gave them the cushion they needed. Leading the charge was Ethan Early, who gave the team a significant boost with a leadoff home run. He finished the game 2-3 with an RBI. Ryan Kennedy also played a key role, driving in two RBIs of his own and contributing to the team's overall offensive explosion. Despite a late rally attempt by Prince George, which made things interesting, the Lions' offense was relentless. They closed out the game strong, securing a 10-6 victory to open the doubleheader on a high note.

Game two followed a similar pattern. The Lions came out hot once again, scoring four runs in the first inning to take an early 4-0 lead. This time, they showed no signs of slowing down. By the end of the fourth inning, they had extended their lead to 8-3. Ryan Kennedy was once again a key figure for the Lions, going 3-3 at the plate with an RBI. His performance was complemented by JP Morales, who also delivered a standout performance, driving in 3 RBIs and helping the team extend its lead. Defensively, the Lions kept the pressure on, making critical plays in the field to stifle any potential comeback from the Owls. With solid pitching and timely defense, the Lions closed out game two with a 9-3 win.

The doubleheader sweep was a crucial moment in the season for the Lions, as they were desperately in need of a positive result to kickstart their campaign. This double victory serves as a confidence booster and provides the team with the momentum they need to string together more wins as they continue their season.
