Scotland takes both games form CCBC

A rough day for the Lion's as they drop both games of the doubleheader to Scotland Campus 8-2 and 15-2.  The Lions will look to bounce back this weekend against conference opponent Chesapeake College on Saturday, April 16th with the first pitch of the double header at noon.

Game one started off rough going down 3-0 in the first inning. The Lion's gave up another in the top of the second but were able to strike back in the bottom half and get on the board from a ground ball from Shawn Cintron to score Tristan Pomeroy from third. Sam Richie brought some life to the Lion's hitting a two out single in the bottom of the third. Mike Newsome was hit by a pitch and Devin Hollingsworth brought Richie home from a single to put the Lions down 4-2. The Lion's were not out of this game but there was not a lot of hope in the dugout. Scotland would score another in the 6th and three in the 7th to defeat the Lion's 8-2 in game one.

Game two was 0-0 after two innings but the wheels fell off the wagon in the top of the third as Scotland put up 9. The Lions would go down 15-0 but were able to get some runs on the board in the bottom of the 5th. Kyle Hansel singled to right to get the Lion's started. GT Maggay doubled to move Hansel to third. Isaiah Coxon hit a ground ball to the right side and Hansel was able to score. Maggay would score on a balk but that was all the offense Lion's could muster as they lost 15-2.
