Walk Off Win For Lions

Your CCBC Dundalk Lions split the double header against Frederick Community College Cougars 6-5, 12-1.

The Lions started hot right out of the gate when Chaney led off the bottom of the 1st with a single. Jake Brack followed that up with a walk. Matt Fino followed them up with a double to bring Skeans home. Jared Jackson hit a sac fly to bring Brack home and give the Lions a 2-0 lead.

The Cougars had their way for the next three innings scoring one on the 2nd, three in the third and one in the fourth to put the Lions down 5-2.

In the bottom of the 5th Skeans led off with a single, stole second and made it home after Fino singled. Fino then scored off of a Mike Newsome double. Lions clawing back 5-4.

In the bottom of the 6th Trey Taliferro led off with a single, stole second and was brought home by a single from Skeans. Lions tie it up 5-5.

Fino led off the top of the 7th with a single. Kendall Goodwin pinch ran for Fino and stole second. Now with two outs and Aaron Perez who pinch ran for Goodwin on second Doyle McNew hit a ball into the ground right out of the pitchers reach that the second baseman was able to grab but the throw was not in time and the Lions walked it off in the 6-5 victory.

Nate Griffin threw a complete game for the Lions and won his second game of the season.

Skeans wasted no time hitting a home run off the first pitch in game two and the Lions were out in front with a 1-0 lead. The Cougars took the lead back in the top of the second and cruised to victory of the second game 12-1.
