Lions lose both games to Hagerstown

After facing the Anne Arundel Community College RiverHawks on Saturday the Lions returned to The Den to take on the Hagerstown Community College Hawks in another double header on Sunday. The results were not what the Lions hoped for losing both games, 8-1 and 13-3.

In the first game no runs came until the top of the 3rd for the Hawks where they took a 3-0 lead. The Lions lone run in the 8-1 loss came in the 6th when Mykal Martin, who reached a single, came home from a Justin Moore double.

Both teams had four hits. The Hawks had nine left on base while the Lions had eight. The difference came from walks (13-2), errors (2-5) and steals (8-3).

Game two was the first time the Lions had a lead at home all season after Jouseph Rodriguez doubled, stole third and scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 1st.

In the top of the 2nd the Hawks came right back and took the lead 2-1 but the Lions tied it up in the bottom half after Martin hit a double and Kevin Gamble brought him home with a single.

The Hawks were not done yet, scoring another two runs in the top of the 3rd. In the bottom of the 3rd Rodriguez led off with a double and made it to third on a wild pitch, Jared JAckson brought him home with a single.

The Lions offense slowed down while the Hawks just kept producing runs in the 13-3 loss.

The Lions will face Prince George's Community College on Thursday, March 25th for a double header with the first game scheduled to start at 2pm weather permitting.
