CCBC Dundalk’s Yael Crespo Named NJCAA Division II Baseball Pitcher of the Week

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced its players of the week for February 27 - March 5, and the Community College of Baltimore County Dundalk's Yael Crespo has been selected the Division II Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Crespo earned the honor for his March 5 performance against Rowan College of Burlington County. The Silver Spring, Maryland native threw seven innings, allowing just one hit, no runs, one walk, and struck out seven.

The Lions' freshman hurler is now 1-0 this season with a 2.35 earned run average and currently averages 8.2 strikeouts per nine innings.

CCBC Dundalk Head Baseball Coach, Kyle Campbell, said, "We are extremely excited for Yael being recognized as the NJCAA DII Pitcher of the Week. This was his first start on the mound this year, and he dominated by commanding the zone and mixing his pitches. We are very proud of him and look forward to what he will bring to our staff the remainder of the season."
