Bio

Coach Perry is entering his fifth season with CCBC Dundalk Men’s Basketball as an asisstant coach. With over 20 years of coaching experience as a head or assistant basketball coach, he brings with him quite an impressive résumé.

A graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (Baltimore, Md.) in 1977, he excelled in volleyball, basketball, and football. His athletic abilities sent him to play basketball at Wayne State University (Detroit, Mich.). He transferred back to Maryland and attended Baltimore City Community College and CCBC Catonsville, majoring in Business Marketing and Applied Arts and Design. Coach Perry finished his academic career at Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Falls Church, Va.) where he compoleted his studies in Project Management in 2000.

Prior to joining the Lions, Perry was a head basketball coach at Fred B. Leidig Recreation Center (Baltimore) from 2007 to 2013, where he managed, coached and directed all aspects of the basketball program. Before taking over at Leidig, Perry was an assistant basketball coach at Towson Catholic High School (Towson, Md.) from 2005 to 2008, primarily working to develop players’ defensive skills. He also served as an assistant basketball coach for Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (1995-2000), coaching at the junior varsity and varsity levels. He has been on the coaching staffs of two MIAA Champions (2007 and 2008) and a Baltimore Catholic League Champion (2007).

Community involvement is also important to Perry. From 1997 to 2004, he was CEO and president of the April S. Greene Memorial Mentorship Program (Baltimore), a non-profit basketball mentoring and tutoring program designed to aid and assist youth in the Baltimore Metropolitan area in team work, sportsmanship and develop a better understanding and appreciation of their community. 

Perry resides in Baltimore and will work with the Lions student-athletes to develop their defensive skills.
