Foul Trouble Forces Lions Loss

The Lions do not finish the season off great losing the last 4 games with the most recent against the Mt. Zion Avengers 69-64.

The Lions were limited to only 7 players compared to the Avengers 18. There were 16 ties and 11 lead changes. The first half had 8 of those ties and ended with one with a score of 26-26. The game was back and forth the whole time. No one could break away. The Lions biggest lead was 5 and Mt. Zion's was 4 up until the end of the game. The Lions ran into foul trouble and had 3 players foul out with less than 3 minutes left. After the second fouled out the Avengers tied the game at 60. The game was tied again at 62 but the Avengers had the ball and time on their side after scoring on back to back possessions and holding the Lions. The Lions lost 69-64 with 4 players on the court.

Jayson Mouzon led the team with 18 points while playing all 40 minutes. Christian Wright was right behind him with 17. Dana Strothers had 11 points and led the team with 7 rebounds.

The Lions next game will be at the NJCAA Region XX Men's Basketball Tournament at Howard Community College against Potomac State of WVU on Friday, March 6.
