Men's Basketball 2016-17 Schedule Release

CCBC Dundalk men's basketball comes into the 2016-17 season looking to rebound from an off year that saw the Lions go 7-21, including 3-11 in the Maryland Juco Athletic Conference.

Head coach Jaron Taylor returns for his fourth season to lead the Lions. Despite last season, Taylor has guided his teams to a 49-40 overall record (.551), gone 23-19 in the conference and dominated at home, going 27-11 (.711) at The Den.

"We haven't done a lot differently [for this season]," Taylor said. "We had unforeseen circumstances hit three key players last year, two of whom would have been sophomores, that changed the dynamics of our roster. Hopefully we won't run into those types of situations this season.

"My coaches and I are very optimistic heading into the season. This group is very similar to the team we had in 2013-14 in regards to the potential depth and quality."

CCBC Dundalk opens the 2016-17 season on the road on Nov. 5 against Bryant & Stratton College (Virginia Beach, Va.).

One week later, the Lions return home to host the CCBC Dundalk Mixer, Nov. 11-12 and play Northampton Community College (Bethlehem, Pa.) and Mercer County Community College (West Windsor Township, N.J.), respectively.

On Nov. 16, CCBC Dundalk plays its first conference game when they host Anne Arundel Community College.

The Lions only play four more conference games prior to winter break, as they hit the road against CCBC Catonsville (Nov. 22), Garrett College (Nov. 30) and Chesapeake College (Dec. 6), before coming home to face Hagerstown Community College (Dec. 8).

Maryland Juco play heats up in January, as all eight of the Lions games are against conference opponents.

Five of Dundalk's games to start the New Year are at home against Cecil College (Jan. 11), Montgomery College (Jan. 14), Prince George's Community College (Jan. 21), Allegany College of Maryland (Jan. 25) and Baltimore City Community College (Jan. 28).

Road games include Frederick Community College (Jan. 7), Harford Community College (Jan. 18) and College of Southern Maryland (Jan. 31).

February begins with two of three games at The Den.

Potomac State College of West Virginia (Keyser, W.Va.) comes to town on Feb. 2, then it's a road game at Howard Community College (Feb. 4) and back home for Manor College (Jenkintown, Pa.) on Feb. 7.

The Maryland Juco Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament runs Feb. 17-19 at Chesapeake College.

Prior to the NJCAA Region XX Division II Men's Basketball Tournament opening round (March 7), Dundalk will welcome Northern Virginia Community College (Springfield, Va.) on Feb. 22.

The regional tournament will be held March 10-12 at Garrett College.
