Lions drop two to Skipjacks

Dundalk, Md. - On Saturday, April 20th Chesapeake college come to Dundalk and slugged it out. The final scores of the games were 10-8 and 17-11. Chesapeake won them both.

Ethan Alioto was the highlight of the day for the Lions recording seven hits in eight at bats with six RBI.

Game one was close the whole time. In two innings Chesapeake scored six runs. Dundalk answered with five of their own. Travis Buckmon singled and Chad Rawlerson reached on an error. Andy Duarte scored them both with a triple. Ethan Alioto brought him home with a single. Ivan Martinez hit a triple of his own and scored Alioto. Charles Lebron hit an RBI single to score Martinez. Lions down one 6-5.

Chesapeake scored three more runs to make it 9-5 before the Lions offense got going again.

In the bottom of the fifth Travis Buckmon lead of by reaching on a throwing error that sailed over the first baseman's head and making it to second. Ryan Gomez came up big with a pinch hit single. Andy Duarte scored one with a double. Ethan Alioto doubled to score two more. The inning ends with the Lions down 9-8.

In game two the Lions started off hot scoring eight runs in the first inning making the score 8-3 in favor of Dundalk.

Chesapeake chipped away at the lead to make it 8-7 after the third. Chris Dockins hit sac fly to score one in the fourth. To make it 9-7.

In the fifth Chesapeake took the lead with two homeruns making the score 15-9. Charles Lebron answered with a homerun of his own but it was only a solo shot. 15-10

Chesapeake kept it going by scoring one in the sixth and the seventh. The Lions did not give up scoring one in the seventh but their effort feel short in the 17-11 loss.
