Essex, Md. - On Tuesday, March 26th the Lions played a close game on Tuesday losing 7-6 to the CCBC Essex Knights. The Lions now fall to 4-10 (2-4 Conference) on the year after splitting this seasons series 1-1. The Knights are now 4-11 (2-5 Conference).
The game was all Lions for for the first seven innings. Joe Rubalcaba pitched a great seven innings giving up no runs and striking out 10. Too bad today was not a double header.
Kaleb Whitlock lead of the the third with a single. Ivan Martinez bunted him over to second. Charles Lebron brought him home with a RBI single. Lions up 1-0.
Jake Brack had a leadoff single to start the fourth. Then Kaleb Whitlock reached on an error. Ivan Martinez then drew a walk. Bases loaded...GOODBYE...GRAND SLAM Charles Lebron. Lions up 5-0.
In the seventh Aaron Rodriguez lead off by reaching on an error. He advanced to second on a ground ball out. A Jake Brack single moved him over to third. Andy Duarte hits a single and scores Rodriguez. Lions up 6-0.
The Lions finish the game off by giving up three runs in the eighth and four in the ninth for CCBC Essex to have a successful comeback and a walkoff victory.
