Baseball: Lions Trio Earn Postseason Honors

DUNDALK, MD -- Three Lions' sophomores picked up postseason honors as Jamie Naill Jr. (Winters Mill) earned All Maryland JUCO second team and All NJCAA Region XX Division II first team and Justin Mack (Eastern Tech) and John Staab (Loyola Blakefield) grabbed All NJCAA Region XX Division II honorable mention. 

Naill batted .351/.434/.399 with 59 hits, eight doubles, 15 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. He raised his batting average 22 points this season as compared to last year. 

After starting 5-for17 in his first five games, Naill went on a tear in March with a .418 batting average (23-for-55), .459 on-base percentage and six RBIs in 16 games. 

Nail did not slow down too much in April as he batted .354 with an on-base of .447, five doubles and eight RBIs.

Over his two years at CCBC Dundalk, Naill hit .340/.406/.401 with one homer, 37 RBIs, 13 doubles, two triples and had 17 stolen bases. He is committed to Shenandoah University for the fall.

Mack batted .303 (43-for-132) with five homers, nine doubles and 29 RBIs in 48 games this season.

The Dundalk, Md. native started the season 7-for-14 (.500) with three RBIs in his first five games.

For his career at CCBC Dundalk, Mack hit .288 with 14 homers, 65 RBIs, 17 doubles and two triples. He has committed to attend Salisbury University in the fall.

In his first and only season with the Lions, Staab has a slash line of .319/.358/.460 with four homers, 31 RBIs, nine doubles and a triple. 

Staab hit three of his four home runs in April and batted .355 (27-for-76) with 17 RBIs in 21 games. He will continue his student-athlete career this fall at Limestone College.
