CCBC Dundalk 2015 Baseball Schedule Release

CCBC Dundalk 2015 Baseball Schedule Release

The CCBC Dundalk Lions and head coach Lance Mauck are excited for the 2015 season after an encouraging slate of fall exhibition games.

"We finished last fall under.500," Mauck said. "We started fall ball with 23 student-athletes and began the spring season with 16. This fall [2014], we went 17-6, had 44 student-athletes and start the spring with a roster of 24."

The Lions 2014 season ended with an 8-0 loss to CCBC Catonsville at the NJCAA Region XX Tournament, where they qualified despite a 13-31 regular season record and defeated College of Southern Maryland 6-3 in the first round.

This season the Lions look to improve upon last year (13-31, 6-17 Maryland JUCO) and begin with a Florida swing of games, February 16-21. The Lions will play eight games in six days.

"What we hope to get out of Florida is to see which players work best together and identify our best position players," Mauck said.

The Lions open the season on Feb. 16 with a twin bill against Webber International (Babson Park, Fla.), followed by a game with Lake-Sumter State College (Sumterville, Fla.) on Feb. 17 and a double header with South Florida State College (Avon Park, Fla.) on Feb. 18.

After a single game with IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) on Feb. 17, the Lions trip to the sunshine state concludes with a double header at Seminole State College of Florida (Sanford, Fla.) on Feb. 18.

On Feb. 28, the Lions open its home schedule with a double header against Bergen C.C. (Paramus, N.J.) and return home to play three games against Onondaga C.C. (Syracuse, N.Y.) March 7-8.

Maryland JUCO Conference play begins on March 17, at inter-campus rival CCBC Essex. The Lions host the Knights on April 7.

On March 31, the Lions host its other inter-campus opponent CCBC Catonsville. The Cardinals then host Dundalk on April 23.

The remainder of the Lions conference schedule is as follows:

Prince George's C.C. (March 24 home, April 16 away), Anne Arundel (March 10 away, April 14 home), Montgomery College (April 25 away double header), Chesapeake College (April 26 home double header), Harford C.C. (March 19 away, April 2 home), Hagerstown C.C. (March 28 away double header), Allegany College of Maryland (April 4 home double header), College of Southern Maryland (April 17 home double header) and Garrett College (April 11 away double header).

The NJCAA Region XX Tournament begins with a first round ballgame on May 2, with the tournament continuing the following week May 8-10.

Qualifying teams and seeds will be announced one week prior to the tournament.
