Lions lose 88-74 to Baltimore City

The Lions lost a rough one at home to the Baltimore City Community College 88-74.

The Lions won the tip, made a layup, got a stop, banged a three and were up 5-0, compelling the Panthers head coach to call a 30 second timeout to get the guy to wake up. The Lions would later jump out to a 23-12 lead thanks to a Charles Neverdon three. This would be the Lions largest lead of the game at 11. The Lions lead would hold strong through the rest of the 1st half ending at 45-36.

The Lions would come out flat after halftime once again surrendering the lead off of a 14-2 run to make it 50-47. The Lions would keep the game close until 7 minutes left in the game, 62-59, but the Panthers lead would only grow as the game went on. The foul difference did not help the Lions as they were called for 20 fouls resulting in 27 free throws for the panthers in the second half while only getting 6 fouls called and two shots at the line.

Shakur Smith led the Lions on all fronts with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists

Hussain Williams recorded 16 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds

Xavier Barrow had 16 points as well

The Lions will look to bounce back at Delaware Technical Community College Tuesday night at 6pm
