The Lions finished December with a 2-4 record in December to put them at 6-6 (1-1) as we start the new year. The last two games before winter break were played at the Cecil Holiday Classic. The Lions went 1-1, winning the first game 75-68 against the Sullivan Community College Generals on Friday before losing 82-72 vs Monroe Community College Tribunes on Saturday.
The star of the weekend for the Lions was Shakur Smith who posted 26 points and 8 rebounds in the win over Sullivan while recording a double-double against Monroe with 30 points and 12 rebounds.
The Catamounts are 6-6 after going 3-3 in December. Both teams have one common opponent at this point in the season which is Northern Virginia Community College whom Dunalk lost in overtime to 88-83 while Potomac State came away victorious against Northern Virginia 96-89.
