CCBC mourns the loss of Cleveland "Coach Rudy" Rudisill

Dundalk, Md. - It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of Cleveland "Rudy" Rudisill. Rudy passed away on Sunday, May 26. He was a  beloved member of the CCBC Athletics family for his hard work and commitment on and off the court.

Rudy was inducted into the inaugural CCBC Athletics Hall of Fame class in 2011. A former student-athlete at CCBC Essex (1973-1975), he led the Knights' men's basketball team to back-to-back 20+ win seasons, earning All-Maryland Juco Conference honors for the 1974-1975 campaign. He would go on to star at the University of Baltimore, where he earned All-Mason Dixon Conference honors, and play professional basketball in the European League for nine years with four teams in Luxembourg and France.

Rudy returned to CCBC in 2000 and spent four seasons as an assistant men's basketball coach at Essex. In 2005, he became the head men's basketball coach at CCBC Dundalk where he led the Lions for eight seasons. Rudy also spent his days at CCBC Dundalk working as an Athletic and Wellness Technician until August 2018 when he retired.

Rudy's funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized; however, we will communicate this information as soon as it is available.
