Lions with back-to-back wins at Cecil Tourney

NORTH EAST, MD - In a perfect end to the Cecil College Holiday Tournament, the Lions rolled through game number two. Continuing with the same momentum from the first game, the Lions (3-10) met Monroe Community College (7-6) for their final game of the tournament.

CCBC and Monroe kept a steady, back and forth pace for the first half going into halftime with CCBC up 33-31.

Keijuan Major (Indian River) returned with a dominating performance in the second game. With six points in the first half, Major added 14 more points in the second half to finish with a team-leading 20 points and six rebounds. Mohamad Bundu (Largo) also had a strong game with 16 points, five rebounds and two assists. Christion Wright Wodlawn) led the team in assists with six.

The Lions capped off a successful weekend with back-to-back wins, ending 2018 4-10 overall and 0-5 Maryland JUCO.

With the rest of December off, the Lions start off 2019 against sibling campus CCBC Catonsville on Friday January 4. The Cardinals (currently 2-12 overall and 1-4 Maryland JUCO) lost to the Lions 76-62 last season, adding to the intra-campus rivalry.

The Lions' next home game is Wednesday January 9 against the Cecil College Seahawks. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
