Owls top Lions 9-4

Dundalk, Md. - It was a nice sunny day when the Lions lost 9-4 to the Prince George's Community College. The Lions had the lead for the whole game until the ninth inning when things just fell apart.

In the first inning with two outs Bryant Gutierrez doubled and Travis Buckmon brought him home with a single, Lions lead 1-0.

In the third Travis Buckmon had two men on second and third and a single scored them both making the score 3-0.

Grahme Akehurst was pitching a pretty good game two hits, five walks and seven strikeouts after five innings but a lead off walk in the the sixth was the end to his day. That run scored later in the inning making it 3-1.

Then in the ninth inning things fell apart for the Lions. Seven hits, a walk, a hit by pitch and a wild pitch created eight runs for the Owls. The Lions are now down 9-3.

With two outs Chase Uhlich singles and Aarron Rodriguez doubles. A wild pitch scores Uhlich and Rodriguez advances to third. Sadly that was all the offense the Lions could come up with.

This weekend the Lions have two double headers against Genesee Community College and Delaware Technical Community College starting at 1:00 pm and 12:00 pm respectively.
