Ryan Gomez then hit a single to get Buckmon to third. Another wild pitch and both runners advance. Then Aarron Rodriguez singles to bring Gomez home but after a throwing error sends the ball into center field Rodriguez tries for the inside the park home run and came up short. Lions 3-0 at the end of the 1st inning.

The next batter drew a walk and now there are runners on first and third with no outs. The Phantoms then attempt a double steal and come up with a run and a man on second. The inning ended with back to back strikeouts 8-4.
