DUNDALK, MD. - Coach Jon Karsos is taking his Lions down to Lancaster, South Carolina this weekend in hopes of starting the season off on the right foot against USC Lancaster.

Karsos is looking to turn the program around in his first year back at CCBC Dundalk from their 17-24 (9-17 Maryland JUCO conference) record last season. Karsos in the past has played and coached here at CCBC Dundalk, two years as an assistant and two years as the head coach. To help him Coach Karsos has brought back assistant coach Garth Irwin while adding Elliott Oppenheim, Andrew Parker, and Nick Ritko to the staff. The team has ten returning players with 17 new faces.

Over the course of the season the Lions have 46 games, 25 at home and 21 away. Out of the 46 games 26 of those are against conference opponents. The Lions also have 14 doubleheaders throughout the year. The Lions have a 11-22 record against returning opponents from last year. Of course a majority of them are conference opponents.

After this four game weekend road trip down to South Carolina the Lions look play their home opener on February 27th against the Camden County College Cougars in their first game of the season.

The Lions have a busy schedule in March playing 25 games and eight doubleheaders.

On Saturday, March 2nd the Lions will be on the road at Montgomery College (MD). This will be their first conference game and also a doubleheader. Last season the Lions were 1-1 against the Raptors.

The next day the Lions will be at home with another doubleheader but this time against Bergen Community College. Last year the teams did not play each other.

On Tuesday the 5th the Lions 2nd conference opponent, Cecil comes to Dundalk. Last year the record was split at 1-1. Then CCBC Dundalk travels to Stevenson to play their JV team on Wednesday. Finally wrapping up the three games in three days playing at CCBC Catonsville who the Lions swept 2-0 last year.

After a nice one day off the Lions start an extremely long homestand with a doubleheader against the College of Southern Maryland. Last year they split the doubleheader at 1-1.

During this 16 day homestand there are 13 games, 7 of which are against conference opponents and five doubleheaders.

The following Tuesday through Thursday, the 12th-14th, the Lions face Anne Arundel, Delaware County, and Prince George's Community College. Anne Arundel and Prince George's both swept Dundalk 2-0 last season while Delaware County was 1-1 split.

The weekend of 16th and 17th is jam packed with two doubleheaders. On Saturday Genesee Community College comes to Dundalk who we did not play last season. Followed by Delaware Technical Community College on Sunday who swept the Lions 2-0 last year.

Then there is a short break with only one game during the week on Tuesday the 19th against CCBC Essex, another team that split 1-1 with the Lions last season.

The extended homestand then concludes with two doubleheaders over the weekend against Allegany College of Maryland on the 23rd and North Hampton Community College on the 24th. Allegany also split 1-1 with the Lions last year. The Lions did not face North Hampton last year.

The first away game in two and a half weeks is a short trip up the road to CCBC Essex on Tuesday the 26th, who they happened to play just a week ago at home. Then on Thursday they travel to Cecil who they also played during that extended homestand. Concluding the month with the last two games being a doubleheader on Saturday the 30th against Hagerstown Community College who swept the Lions 2-0 last season.

To start off April CCBC Catonsville travels to Dundalk on Tuesday the 2nd to finish the season matchup. The following Thursday the Lions travel to Harford to face the Fighting Owls for the first time this season. Last season the Lions split 1-1 with them in the series. Then on Saturday the 6th the Lions face Frederick Community College in a doubleheader in which Frederick won both games last season.

On Monday the 8th Stevenson's JV team comes to Dundalk to finish that series. On Tuesday Harford does the same thing coming to Dundalk to finish that series.

With a few days off the team travels to Schnecksville, PA to play Lehigh Carbon Community College in a doubleheader on Saturday the 13th who they split 1-1 last season. The very next day the Lions come home to face Ocean Community College in a double header who they did not play last year.

Then on Tuesday 16th and Thursday the 18th the Lions are on the road against Prince George's and Anne Arundel respectively to finish off those series.

As the regular season comes to an end the last home games will be against Chesapeake College on Saturday the 20th. Last season the double header was at Chesapeake and they took both games.

With a week off the season comes to an end with the last two games being played against Garrett College on Saturday the 27th. Last season the Lions split the regular season matchup and lost in the playoffs against Garrett to have a 1-2 head to head record on the year.

With the return of Coach Karsos and the new students he brought in, be on the watch for CCBC Dundalk to shock some people this season.
