Lions Roar with 6-Run 6th inning, Cruise Past Seahawks

DUNDALK, MD - The Lions' bats got going at just the right time. Down 6-3 heading in the sixth inning, they added six runs plus an additional 5 runs in the eighth as they dominated the Cecil College Seahawks 14-7. With this win the Lions improve to 16-23, winning four games in a row after a six game skid.

Despite giving up only five earned runs, Antonio Fernandez (John Bowne | Queens. N.Y.) was in control through six innings as he struck out seven batters. Creed Mourey (Kenwood) came in relief for the final three innings as he struck out five batters.

As for the bats,  they came in hot at the right time. The sixth inning rally was highlighted by a pair of RBI singles from Zach Huddleston (Good Counsel | Laurel, Md., 2-2 1RBI) and Andreas Holtzer (Good Counsel |Adelphi, Md., 3-4 2RBI) as well as an RBI double from Andy Duarte (Grand Street Campus, Brooklyn, N.Y.,1-4 1RBI). Charles LeBron (Grand Street Campus | Brooklyn, N.Y., 1-2 4RBIs) produced as he had 2RBIs on sacrifice flies and hit a 2 run single in the bottom of the eighth to increase the Lions' lead.

Next up: The Lions they will play their final home game on Saturday May 5 as they take on the Montgomery College Raptors in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
