DUNDALK, MD - The CCBC Dundalk Lions got a much-needed win on Thursday as they cruised past the CCBC Catonsville Cardinals 12-5. The win improves the Lions' overall record to 11-17.

The star of the game was freshman RHP Creed Mourey (Kenwood). Mourey threw an absolute gem on Thursday as he pitched a complete game allowing only 3 earned runs and striking out 10 Cardinal batters.

The Lions offense exploded for 12 runs thanks to Andreas Holtzer (Good Counsel) who went 3-5 with 4RBIs and started the scoring by hitting in RBI single in the bottom of the first. Holtzer also hit a 2 run single in the bottom of the seventh. Aarron Rodriguez (Telecom | Brooklyn, N.Y.) also had 3RBIs, which included a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning. Arri Stakias (John Carroll) added 2 RBIs, Ethan Alioto (Catonsville) hit for a double and an RBI, and Bryant Gutierrez (Abraham Lincoln | Queens, N.Y.) doubled to help round out the Lions offense on a very windy afternoon.

Next up the Lions head on the road to McHenry, Maryland for a doubleheader Saturday April 21 against the Garrett College Lakers. On Sunday April 22, the Lions will travel to Chesapeake College for another doubleheader against the Skipjacks.

The Lions' next home stand starts Tuesday April 24 with a doubleheader against the Hawks of Hagerstown Community College.
