Bio

Brian R. Farrell became the first college-wide CCBC Director of Athletics in 2003. Previously, he served 10 years (1993-2003) as the CCBC Catonsville Director of Athletics.

Thanks to unbelievably talented and dedicated coaches and student-athletes, CCBC teams have earned 8 NJCAA championships, 56 NJCAA national tournament appearances, 58 NJCAA Region XX titles, and 46 Maryland JUCO Conference crowns during Farrell’s tenure. Thanks to an equally talented and loyal support staff, CCBC Athletics has raised more than $2.6 million, developed new websites, instituted a student-athlete community service project, and electronic academic progress monitoring system under his leadership.

Farrell has held the following prestigious athletic leadership posts: NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse Chairman (2008-2010), NJCAA Region XX Men’s Director (2004-2010), and Maryland JUCO Conference President (1996-2004). He was the 2000-2001 Maryland JUCO Conference Athletic Director of the Year.

He earned an Associate of Arts degree from CCBC (1985) and Bachelor of Arts degree from UMBC (Catonsville, Md. - 1987). A pitcher and outfielder, Farrell was the first NJCAA Academic All-American in CCBC Catonsville history (1984-1985). At UMBC, he pitched to an 8-6 career record and was the 1988 Outstanding Academic Athlete. He was a 1983 graduate of Catonsville High School (Catonsville, Md.).

Farrell resides in Catonsville, Md. with his wife of 25 years, Jeanette. They have two sons, Tyler (23) and Timothy (20).
