CCBC Dundalk welcomes Leslie Wray

After a competitive and thorough search process, CCBC is pleased to announce that Leslie K. Wray will serve as the Assistant Director of College Athletics for CCBC Dundalk effective Monday, January 14, 2019.  Leslie brings nearly fifteen years of collegiate athletic work experience to our intercollegiate athletic program. Most recently, she served as the UMBC Head Women's Soccer Coach from 2012-2017.

While coaching women's soccer at UMBC, her teams captured both the school's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and America East regular season crown; an America East Tournament title; and a school record for wins (13) in a single season. While at UMBC, Leslie oversaw $130,000 in budget and staffing resources; operated numerus sports camps; did extensive fund raising for the soccer program; had her student-athletes regularly involved in community service projects; and served on a number of college-wide initiatives designed to promote student welfare. Earlier in her collegiate career, she also served as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Towson University (1999-2006) where her 2000 team would also set a school record for wins (10) in a single season. Leslie has also coached youth soccer at the Olympic Development and club levels over the past two decades, most recently U12-U14 age groups for the Ellicott City Soccer Club (2014-present).

A graduate of Parkville High School, she earned 1991 NJCAA Women's Soccer All-American 2nd team honors as a student-athlete at our very own CCBC Essex. She continued collegiate soccer at the NCAA level for the University of Maryland  (1992-1994), recording six goals and 15 assists over her Terrapin career. On the professional level, Leslie played three seasons for the Maryland Pride of the United States Women's Interregional Soccer League. Her 1996 Maryland Pride team won the USWISL national title. She has earned a Master's degree in Education (University of Missouri, 1999) and Bachelor's of Arts degree (University of Maryland, 1995). Leslie holds a certification as an athletic administrator from the National Interscholastic Athletics Administrators Association.

We are very excited about the passion, enthusiasm, work ethic, and communication skills Leslie brings to both CCBC Athletics and CCBC Dundalk Athletics. She has expressed great excitement about joining our team, working with our coaches and support staff, and making our student-athlete experience better.

Welcome to The Lions' Den, Leslie!
