CCBC Dundalk Lions Celebrate 2017-18 Year-End Awards

CCBC Dundalk Lions Celebrate 2017-18 Year-End Awards

DUNDALK, MD - On May 10, CCBC Dundalk held its annual Year-End Athletics Celebration, recognizing the teams, coaches, and staff, and athletic and scholastic achievements over the past year.

After a buffet dinner, the evening continued with recognition and acknowledgement of our many support staff and partners college-wide. It is a true testament to the many people and hours it takes to run and support a successful intercollegiate athletics program.

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz was a great friend of supporter of CCBC and a man who gave over two decades of service to all who live in Baltimore County. The program opened with a moment of silence in remembrance of him and in recognition of his passing earlier in the day.

Service Project Recognition:

This past fall, CCBC Student Athletes participated in the College's department-wide community service project.   CCBC teams raised over $3,000 to benefit the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation – an organization that raises awareness and prevention of child abuse through its Courage House National Support Network for Kids.  This organization, though national in scope, was founded in Baltimore and is headquartered in Baltimore County.  More than that, its mission, named in honor of Ed Block, a former Baltimore Colts trainer, supports his profession of athletic training and trainers that play a crucial role in providing a safe and supporting environment for our student athletes on a daily basis each season.  Let's give a round of applause to all of our student athletes for their participation in this initiative.

Nick Wynn (Towson), a CCBC Dundalk Baseball participant, was recognized as CCBC's leading male fundraiser at the organization's March 2018 Gala at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Baltimore where his picture was included in the commemorative program and he received an award, just as a member of each NFL team did, that night.
